New Breed of Entrepreneurs Posted on January 5, 2019
“Prior to joining this program we would just sit at home and go on about our regular household chores. With this initiative we can now use our skills and increase our family’s household income.”
In line with its vision under the UN Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Goal 5: Gender Equality, Thar Foundation has commenced the Women Enterprise Development program.
-
The objective of this initiative is to develop, train and support a new breed of women entrepreneurs in Thar with a focus on Thar Block II and adjoining communities. Under the program the Foundation is providing mentoring, training and seed-money to 05 females as a pilot batch under the program where they are currently learning hygienic food delivery systems and operations. Once trained the female entrepreneurs will provide fresh home-cooked meals to the workers from our surrounding villages.
- As an agent of change and a proud ambassador of equality, Thar Foundation strives to empower Thari Women through developing their skills and providing them technical and financial assistance to become entrepreneurs. Help us in expanding our reach to unlock the potential of these resilient women and secure a prosperous future for them.
