“The drought in Jaindo Dars in Tharparkar hit us hard, drying up our lands and our livelihood. Despite the circumstances, my 7 children were in school. One of them is also differently abled like myself, and with little hope of income, the future seemed bleak for us. When Thar Foundation awarded me a grant through its SME grants program, I opened a tuck shop for the locals. Today, thanks to their support I earn Rs. 36,000 per month (~USD 280) and am able to provide for my family.”
