“When I secured a 2nd position in the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) entry test in my district, I didn’t know what life had planned for me. One of three brothers and the son of a humble furniture store owner from village Darwesh Naich in Ghotki, I was offered a fully funded scholarship by Thar Foundation. The scholarship was not only a means to an end for me but a life-changing phenomenon. The Rs. 10,000 monthly stipend, admission fee, hostel expenses and examination charges being borne by the Company enabled me to think about not only my future but the future of my people. Having completed 3 successful internships at Tharparkar, I plan to continue to work for Thar and the people of Pakistan upon completion of my degree from the Mining Engineering Department of MUET, because I believe that my education will prove to be the best platform for me to serve the nation I so love”.
